What this trial studies
This observational study focuses on assessing the outcomes of patients with esophageal cancer, gastric cancer, or gastroesophageal junction tumors following surgical intervention. It includes patients who have not received prior treatment or those who have undergone neoadjuvant therapy. The study collects data retrospectively to analyze the effectiveness of surgical procedures in this patient population. Participants will provide informed consent for blood sampling and complete various questionnaires to aid in data collection.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults aged 18 and older with a diagnosis of esophageal, gastric, or gastroesophageal junction cancer who have not received prior treatment.
Not a fit: Patients under 18 years old, those unable to consent, or individuals who do not speak French may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide valuable insights into the effectiveness of surgical treatments for esophageal cancer, potentially improving patient outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies evaluating surgical outcomes in esophageal cancer have shown promising results, indicating that this approach is supported by existing research.
