Evaluating median nerve conduction in carpal tunnel syndrome after wrist bone mobilization

Immediate Effect of Manual Mobilization of the Carpal Bones on the Neural Conduction of the Median Nerve in Patients With Carpal Tunnel Syndrome: Randomized Clinical Trial

Not applicable Interventional Universidad de Zaragoza · NCT06399380

What this trial studies

This clinical trial aims to assess the immediate effects of manual mobilization techniques on the carpal bones in patients diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome. Participants will undergo a specific mobilization technique, while a control group will not receive this intervention. The study will compare the electrophysiological responses of the median nerve between the two groups to determine if the mobilization technique yields positive outcomes. The goal is to provide insights into the effectiveness of this manual technique for improving nerve function.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults over 18 years old who have been diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome.

Not a fit: Patients who have had previous surgery on the hand or wrist or those with limited movement of the carpal bones may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could offer a non-invasive treatment option to improve nerve function in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome.

How similar studies have performed: While similar manual techniques have been explored, this specific approach to mobilizing carpal bones in relation to median nerve conduction is relatively novel.
