What this trial studies

This observational study aims to assess the prevalence of low back pain among young people in Italy and their willingness to pursue osteopathic treatments. Participants, specifically adolescents with gnathological or orthodontic disorders, will complete a short self-administered questionnaire that includes questions about their pain intensity and treatment intentions. The study will analyze the relationships between reported low back pain and the desire for osteopathic care, utilizing descriptive statistics and correlation evaluations based on the responses. This research addresses a gap in the literature regarding the connection between low back pain, osteopathy, and orthodontic issues in youth.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adolescents in Italy experiencing common low back pain and having gnathological or orthodontic disorders.

Not a fit: Patients with identifiable causes of low back pain, previous spinal surgeries, or cognitive impairments may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide insights into the effectiveness of osteopathic treatments for young individuals suffering from low back pain.

How similar studies have performed: There is currently a lack of studies correlating low back pain, osteopathic treatments, and orthodontic disorders in young people, making this approach novel.
