What this trial studies
This clinical trial aims to recruit 60 participants aged 65 and older diagnosed with sarcopenia. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the JUICE HA® supplement or a placebo for 12 weeks. The study will assess the effects of JUICE HA®, which contains hyaluronic acid, branched-chain amino acids, and chondroitin, on muscle mass, functional fitness, and quality of life. Evaluations will include functional fitness assessments, quality of life questionnaires, and blood sample analyses at various intervals throughout the study.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 65 and older who have been diagnosed with sarcopenia according to the AWGS 2019 criteria.
Not a fit: Patients with recent severe lower extremity musculoskeletal injuries or a fear of blood sampling may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance muscle health and overall quality of life for elderly patients suffering from sarcopenia.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on nutritional supplements for sarcopenia, the specific formulation of JUICE HA® represents a novel approach.
