Evaluating inflammation and endothelial dysfunction in patients with myocardial infarction and non-obstructive coronary arteries

Biomarkers of Inflammation and Endothelial Dysfunction in Patients With Myocardial Infarction With Non-obstructive Coronary Arteries

Observational Hospital Universitario Getafe · NCT06446895

What this trial studies

This observational study aims to investigate the role of inflammation and endothelial dysfunction biomarkers in patients experiencing myocardial infarction with non-obstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA). It will compare these biomarkers in MINOCA patients to those with myocardial infarction and obstructive coronary arteries (MICAD). Blood samples will be collected at three different time points: within 24 hours of symptom onset, at discharge, and two months post-MI, to assess the association of these biomarkers with the risk of MINOCA using logistic regression analysis.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients admitted with myocardial infarction who undergo coronariography and are willing to provide informed consent.

Not a fit: Patients who do not sign informed consent will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the understanding of MINOCA and lead to improved diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for affected patients.

How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on myocardial infarction, this specific focus on MINOCA and its biomarkers is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
