What this trial studies
This observational study aims to recruit participants diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma to evaluate genetic biomarkers associated with the disease. Initially, 10 patients will be recruited from the urological department at Zealand University Hospital, followed by the analysis of biological materials from an additional 100 patients sourced from the national Biobank. The final phase will involve a gene test on 10 selected patients to further investigate the genetic aspects of kidney cancer.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma.
Not a fit: Patients without signs of malignancy or those who are incapacitated may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved understanding and potential new biomarkers for kidney cancer, enhancing diagnosis and treatment strategies.
How similar studies have performed: While similar studies have explored genetic evaluations in cancer, this specific approach is novel and aims to identify biomarkers for kidney cancer.
