What this trial studies
This study aims to assess the effectiveness and safety of Finerenone in patients suffering from chronic kidney disease (CKD) who do not have diabetes mellitus. Participants will be enrolled from December 2022 to December 2024 and will receive Finerenone alongside their standard CKD treatment. The study will monitor key biomarkers, including 24-hour urinary protein, estimated glomerular filtration rate, and serum potassium, on a monthly basis for up to twelve months. The goal is to gather real-world data to better understand the therapeutic impact and safety profile of Finerenone in this specific patient population.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients diagnosed with chronic kidney disease who do not have diabetes mellitus.
Not a fit: Patients with chronic kidney disease who also have diabetes mellitus will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a new treatment option for non-diabetic patients with chronic kidney disease, potentially slowing disease progression and improving patient outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited evidence for the use of Finerenone in non-diabetic CKD patients, studies in diabetic populations have shown promising results, indicating potential for success in this novel application.
