What this trial studies

This study investigates the effectiveness of the Feldenkrais Method and the Otago Exercise Programme in alleviating chronic low back pain and improving functional abilities in adults aged 18 to 65. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two intervention protocols, with data collected to assess pain levels, disability, and balance. The study aims to provide evidence for these interdisciplinary approaches in managing mechanical low back pain and reducing fall risks among older adults. Conducted at Farooq Hospital and Boston Physiotherapy and Wellness Clinic, it seeks to enhance understanding of non-pharmacological treatments for this common condition.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 to 65 with chronic low back pain lasting at least three months and moderate pain and disability levels.

Not a fit: Patients with severe low back pain, significant balance impairment, or specific health conditions like cardiovascular disease and diabetes may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide effective non-invasive treatment options for individuals suffering from chronic low back pain.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promise in using similar non-invasive approaches for managing low back pain, suggesting potential for success in this trial.
