What this trial studies

This observational study aims to assess the level of decisional regret among patients who have undergone kidney transplantation at Lille University Hospital. It focuses on understanding the emotional impact of the decision to choose transplantation over dialysis, a choice that significantly affects patients' quality of life. The study will utilize the Decision Regret Scale (DRS) and the RetransQoL questionnaire to evaluate patients' feelings and quality of life post-transplantation. By gathering data from a prospective cohort of renal transplant recipients, the study seeks to provide insights into the psychological aspects of transplantation decisions.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals who have recently undergone kidney transplantation at Lille University Hospital and have a functional kidney graft.

Not a fit: Patients who have had previous solid organ transplants or cognitive disorders may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could help improve the decision-making process for patients considering kidney transplantation by highlighting areas of concern and regret.

How similar studies have performed: While studies on decisional regret exist in various fields, this specific focus on kidney transplantation is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
