What this trial studies
This clinical trial aims to assess the effectiveness of two types of attachments, Novaloc and Equator, on implant-retained mandibular overdentures for patients with edentulism. A total of 10 patients will receive upper complete dentures and lower overdentures supported by two dental implants. After a three-month healing period, patients will be divided into two groups to evaluate the performance of each attachment type. The study will be conducted at the Faculty of Dental Medicine for Girls at Al-Azhar University.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are patients with firm mucosa-covered ridges and adequate residual alveolar ridge dimensions, free from oral or systemic diseases.
Not a fit: Patients with oral or systemic diseases, excessive salivation, or those with parafunctional habits may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve the stability and comfort of dentures for patients with edentulism.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results with similar attachment approaches in improving denture retention and patient satisfaction.
