What this trial studies

This study aims to assess the occurrence of cardiovascular and thromboembolic complications in patients with pre-existing cardiovascular disease who are undergoing lower limb joint replacement surgery. It will analyze the impact of known risk factors and perioperative prevention strategies on these complications. The ultimate goal is to develop optimized antithrombotic prevention tactics to improve patient outcomes following surgery.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults over 18 years old with cardiovascular disease who are scheduled for lower limb joint replacement surgery.

Not a fit: Patients who are pregnant, have psychiatric disorders, decompensated heart failure, or a known diagnosis of cancer may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved management strategies that reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications in patients undergoing joint replacement.

How similar studies have performed: While this study focuses on a specific patient population, similar approaches in managing thromboembolic risks in surgical patients have shown promise in previous research.
