Evaluating antioxidants and cytokines in eye diseases
Species Identification and Concentration Measurement of Antioxidants and Cytokines in the Anterior Chamber From Patients of Various Ocular Disorders

What this trial studies
This observational study focuses on patients with corneal or retinal diseases, such as corneal opacities or diabetic retinopathy, providing them with standard care treatments. The primary goal is to build a cohort of patients for potential future clinical trials and to enhance the understanding of the microenvironment in these ocular disorders. Participants will be monitored for at least three months, with follow-up visits aligned with standard care protocols. The study aims to facilitate research hypotheses and improve clinical training for fellows in ophthalmology.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients undergoing intravitreal injections, vitreoretinal surgery, corneal transplants, or general cataract surgery.
Not a fit: Patients who have had previous intraocular surgery, those with eye infections, uveitis, or extreme intraocular pressure levels may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved understanding and future treatment options for patients with various ocular disorders.
How similar studies have performed: While this approach is observational and not testing new treatments, similar studies have successfully identified patient cohorts for future research.
