What this trial studies

This observational study aims to assess the effects of a comprehensive wellness and social determinants of health intervention on cardiovascular health within the Bonton neighborhood. Participants, aged 18 and older, will engage in various health programs over a year, with their health and wellbeing indicators collected at baseline, 6 months, and 12 months. The study will evaluate improvements in cardiometabolic health and quality of life, as well as identify which specific programs are most beneficial for different sub-groups, such as the elderly or individuals with diabetes.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older who can modify their diet and physical activity and are willing to participate in programs at Bonton Farms for 12 months.

Not a fit: Patients with terminal illnesses, those unable to alter their diet or physical activity due to medical conditions, or those who have recently participated in intensive lifestyle change programs may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved cardiovascular health and quality of life for participants in community settings.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success with community-based health interventions, indicating potential for positive outcomes in similar approaches.
