What this trial studies

This study evaluates the effectiveness of the Walk With Ease program, which incorporates physical therapy exercises, to reduce falls and fall risk among community-dwelling older adults. Using a randomized controlled trial design, it compares standard exercise recommendations with individually prescribed exercises and assesses the impact of different educational resources on compliance and physical activity levels. The study aims to provide insights into effective implementation strategies for broader dissemination of fall prevention interventions.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are community-dwelling older adults aged 65 years or older who can stand for at least 10 minutes without pain.

Not a fit: Patients who are already somewhat active or not at risk for falls may not receive any benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly reduce the incidence of falls and improve the overall safety and quality of life for older adults.
