What this trial studies
This evaluation assesses the effectiveness of the USAID-supported Community Health and Nutrition (CHN) program in Jordan, focusing on its impact on the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of healthcare providers and the behavior changes in pregnant and lactating women with children under two years. The program aims to improve maternal and child nutrition through better breastfeeding and complementary feeding practices, as well as enhanced family planning methods. The evaluation will take place in three governorates: Amman, Karak, and Zarqa, involving both beneficiaries and healthcare providers. Data will be collected to measure the program's influence on health outcomes and practices.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include pregnant and lactating women aged 18-49 with children under two years who are beneficiaries of the CHN program.
Not a fit: Patients who are not willing to participate or provide informed consent, or those living outside the study area may not benefit from this evaluation.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly improve the nutritional status and health outcomes of mothers and young children in Jordan.
How similar studies have performed: Other evaluations of community health and nutrition programs have shown success in improving maternal and child health outcomes, indicating that this approach is supported by existing evidence.
