What this trial studies

This clinical trial aims to assess the effectiveness of 99mTc-CNDG SPECT/CT in diagnosing brain tumors by comparing its diagnostic consistency with the established 18F-FDG-PET method. Participants will undergo both imaging techniques within two weeks prior to surgery, allowing for a direct comparison against pathological diagnoses obtained from surgical or biopsy samples. The study seeks to determine the correlation between the maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax) of 99mTc-CNDG and different tumor types.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults aged 18 and older with a clinical diagnosis of brain tumors who can provide informed consent.

Not a fit: Patients with insulin-dependent diabetes, severe liver or kidney disease, or those undergoing current cancer treatments may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve the accuracy of brain tumor diagnoses, leading to better treatment planning.

How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies comparing various imaging techniques for brain tumors, the specific use of 99mTc-CNDG in this context is relatively novel.
