What this trial studies

This study aims to develop and pre-test an ethnodrama intervention designed to change community perceptions and support for young cisgender women using PrEP to prevent HIV. In the first year, the focus will be on creating the ethnodrama, while the second year will involve pre-testing this intervention with groups that include young women, their male partners, female peers, healthcare providers, community leaders, and family members. The goal is to foster a supportive environment for PrEP use among young women.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include young cisgender women who are currently using or have previously used PrEP, along with their male partners, female peers, healthcare providers, community leaders, and family members.

Not a fit: Patients who do not identify as young cisgender women or are not involved in the socio-ecological network of these women may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly reduce stigma and improve support for young women using PrEP, leading to better health outcomes.

How similar studies have performed: While the specific ethnodrama approach may be novel, similar interventions aimed at reducing stigma around HIV and PrEP have shown promise in other studies.
