What this trial studies

This study investigates how Iso-alpha-Acids and Xanthohumol, compounds derived from hops, influence the immune response in healthy participants over a six-hour period. It employs a placebo-controlled crossover design where participants receive either a placebo, Xanthohumol, Iso-alpha Acids, or a combination of both, followed by blood draws at various intervals. The study aims to measure clinical parameters, blood lipids, glucose levels, uric acid, and inflammatory markers to assess the compounds' effects on the immune system.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are healthy adults with a BMI between 18.5 and 30 kg/m².

Not a fit: Patients with food intolerances, chronic inflammatory diseases, or those on immunosuppressive medication may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide insights into natural compounds that may enhance immune function.

How similar studies have performed: While the specific combination of hop compounds is novel, similar studies on dietary compounds affecting immune response have shown promising results.
