What this trial studies

This study investigates the impact of different dual task training methods on balance, walking skills, mobility, and cognitive function in patients diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Participants will undergo either variable priority dual task training, fixed priority dual task training, or single task training to assess the effectiveness of these interventions. The research aims to determine how task prioritization affects physical performance and cognitive status in this population.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 40 and older diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in stages 1-3 according to the Hoehn & Yahr scale.

Not a fit: Patients with cognitive impairments or other neurological conditions, as well as those who have undergone deep brain stimulation surgery, may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance mobility and cognitive function in patients with Parkinson's disease.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using dual task training to improve outcomes in similar patient populations, suggesting a potential for success in this approach.
