What this trial studies
This study investigates how three different sources of dietary fat—rapeseed oil, butter, and coconut oil—affect inflammation markers, blood lipid levels, blood glucose, and gut microbiota in healthy adults. Participants aged 18 to 60 will consume a diet incorporating these fats to assess their impact on cardiometabolic risk factors. The study aims to clarify the relationship between dietary fat intake and low-grade inflammation, which is linked to conditions like type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are healthy adults aged 18 to 60 who are willing to adhere to the study diet.
Not a fit: Patients with established cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, or those on medications affecting lipid metabolism or inflammation may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide insights into dietary recommendations that may reduce inflammation and improve cardiometabolic health.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have explored the effects of dietary fats on inflammation and lipid profiles, suggesting potential benefits, but this specific approach may provide novel insights.
