What this trial studies

This study investigates how clear aligners and traditional metal brackets affect the nutritional status of adults undergoing orthodontic treatment. It aims to assess dietary habits and nutrition through anthropometric measurements, dietary assessments, and evaluations of oral health impact. Participants will include adults aged 18 to 45 who have been in orthodontic treatment for over six months. The findings will help clinicians understand the influence of orthodontic appliances on nutrition and improve patient care.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 to 45 undergoing orthodontic treatment with either clear aligners or traditional brackets.

Not a fit: Patients who are not undergoing orthodontic treatment or those with missing teeth (excluding wisdom teeth) may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide insights that enhance nutritional guidance for orthodontic patients, leading to better overall health outcomes.

How similar studies have performed: While there is limited research on this specific topic, studies on orthodontic treatments and their effects on health have shown varying degrees of success.
