What this trial studies

This study examines how effective Schroth exercises and Pilates exercises are for patients with scoliosis. It is designed as a randomized controlled trial involving 50 individuals diagnosed with scoliosis, who will be divided into two groups. One group will undergo a rehabilitation program focused on 3-dimensional corrective scoliosis exercises, while the other will participate in Pilates exercises tailored for scoliosis. The exercise sessions will be conducted three times a week for 12 weeks by trained physiotherapists.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 18-45 with a primary curve of 10-40 degrees of scoliosis.

Not a fit: Patients with a BMI over 30 kg/m² or those with other significant neurological or orthopedic disorders may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide effective non-surgical treatment options for patients with scoliosis.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown positive outcomes with similar exercise interventions for scoliosis, suggesting potential for success in this approach.
