What this trial studies
This study evaluates the efficacy of a modified free gingival graft technique aimed at treating gingival recession, which is the exposure of tooth roots due to the migration of the gum line. The intervention involves mucogingival surgery on patients with localized recession in the mandibular incisors. The study targets individuals aged 18 to 64 who maintain good oral hygiene and have specific types of gum recession. The goal is to assess improvements in gum health and attachment levels following the procedure.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 to 64 with localized gingival recession and good plaque control.
Not a fit: Patients who are smokers, systemically compromised, or have undergone previous periodontal surgeries will likely not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this technique could significantly improve gum health and aesthetic outcomes for patients with gingival recession.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results with similar grafting techniques, indicating potential for success in this approach.
