What this trial studies
This study investigates the effectiveness of manual and instrumental myofascial release techniques in alleviating chronic low back pain among individuals who regularly participate in CrossFit. It aims to assess how these treatments can improve pain management and posture in this specific population, which often experiences musculoskeletal issues due to the intensity of their training. Participants will undergo myofascial release and cupping therapy to evaluate their impact on pain levels and functional outcomes. The study focuses on individuals who have been experiencing low back pain for at least 12 weeks and have been engaged in CrossFit for a minimum of three months.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are men and women aged 18 to 59 who have experienced low back pain for at least 12 weeks and have been participating in CrossFit for at least three months.
Not a fit: Patients who perform other forms of physical activity outside of CrossFit or have conditions such as fibromyalgia or previous spinal surgeries may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide effective non-pharmacological treatment options for chronic low back pain in CrossFit practitioners.
How similar studies have performed: While there is existing literature on myofascial release for pain management, this specific approach targeting CrossFit practitioners is relatively novel.
