What this trial studies

This study investigates the impact of controlled combined exercise on cardiovascular fitness, fatigue, and depression in newly diagnosed patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). It aims to determine whether early rehabilitation interventions can improve quality of life and motivate patients to adopt a more active lifestyle. Participants will be divided into two groups: one receiving a structured exercise program and the other undergoing conventional rehabilitation. The study will assess the effectiveness of these interventions over a period of two months, focusing on the changes in fatigue and depression levels.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 20 to 45 who have been newly diagnosed with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis or clinically isolated syndrome.

Not a fit: Patients with progressive forms of multiple sclerosis or those who cannot participate in the exercise program due to medical contraindications may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved management of fatigue and depression in patients with multiple sclerosis, enhancing their overall quality of life.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown that aerobic exercise can improve fatigue in MS patients, suggesting that this approach may be beneficial, although the specific combined exercise protocol is less commonly tested.
