What this trial studies

This study provides patients with small, favorable malignant or indeterminate thyroid nodules with information regarding their management options. Participants will complete surveys at enrollment, after their consultation with a surgeon, and a few months post-consultation or surgery to evaluate their satisfaction with the decision-making process. All participants will receive standard care and counseling from their endocrinologist and surgeon throughout the study.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals with indeterminate or malignant thyroid nodules that are 2cm or smaller.

Not a fit: Patients with a history of thyroid surgery or thyroid cancer may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance patient understanding and satisfaction in managing thyroid nodules.

How similar studies have performed: While similar studies have explored patient education in thyroid management, this specific approach focusing on decision aids for small nodules is relatively novel.
