What this trial studies

This project aims to evaluate the effectiveness and cost-utility of a digital ecosystem designed to provide psychosocial care for patients diagnosed with advanced lung cancer. It compares this eHealth intervention with standard care to assess improvements in psychosocial indicators during the first year following diagnosis. The study addresses the need for timely and accessible support for patients facing the challenges of living with advanced cancer, integrating both physical and psychological care. The research is conducted by a specialized cancer care center and includes a comparative economic analysis.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 and older with a diagnosis of advanced lung cancer (stages III-IV) who have internet access and can read and write in Spanish.

Not a fit: Patients currently experiencing major depressive episodes, self-harm risks, active psychotic symptoms, or substance abuse may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly enhance the quality of life for patients with advanced lung cancer by providing timely psychosocial support.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown positive outcomes with integrated psychosocial care in palliative settings, supporting the potential success of this novel eHealth approach.
