What this trial studies

Center M is a digital health intervention designed to address perinatal depression by offering an alternative to traditional Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy. This approach utilizes a telehealth model, reducing the number of in-person sessions and providing digital homework materials through a smartphone app. Participants will be randomized to receive either the Center M treatment or standard treatment as usual, allowing for a comparison of effectiveness in managing perinatal depression.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are pregnant individuals aged 18-50 who are fluent in English and can attend online group meetings.

Not a fit: Patients who are currently enrolled in or have previously participated in a mindfulness-based intervention group may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could provide a more accessible and flexible treatment option for pregnant individuals experiencing perinatal depression.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using digital health interventions for mental health conditions, suggesting that this approach could be effective for perinatal depression as well.
