What this trial studies
This study investigates the effects of a diet intervention based on Nordic dietary guidelines on sperm quality and small non-coding RNA profiles in men undergoing IVF treatment. Males in infertile couples will be randomized into either a control group or a diet intervention group, where they will receive groceries and meal plans tailored to their energy needs during the hormonal treatment period of their female partners. Sperm samples will be collected before and after the intervention to assess changes in quality and RNA profiles. The goal is to determine if dietary changes can enhance reproductive success.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are male partners in infertile couples scheduled for their first IVF treatment who can adhere to dietary guidelines.
Not a fit: Patients with a history of malignant disease, genetic disorders, or those who cannot comply with dietary restrictions may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could improve sperm quality and increase the chances of successful IVF outcomes for couples facing infertility.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown that dietary changes can rapidly affect sperm quality, suggesting potential success for this approach.
