What this trial studies

This observational study focuses on identifying neurodevelopmental disorders in adults who were diagnosed after the age of 18. It aims to address the significant number of individuals who remain untreated and symptomatic into adulthood, highlighting the need for a diagnostic pathway for lifelong care. The study will evaluate adults with various neurodevelopmental disorders, including ADHD and autism spectrum disorders, to better understand their cognitive dysfunctions and challenges in socio-professional integration.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are men and women aged 18 to 55 who have been diagnosed with a neurodevelopmental disorder after the age of 18.

Not a fit: Patients with intellectual disabilities or serious psychiatric comorbidities may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved diagnosis and treatment pathways for adults with neurodevelopmental disorders, enhancing their quality of life.

How similar studies have performed: While there is ongoing research into neurodevelopmental disorders, this specific focus on late diagnosis in adulthood is relatively novel and less explored.
