What this trial studies
This study investigates the effects of Argentine Tango dance classes compared to home exercise on postural control and neuropathy symptoms in breast cancer survivors. Participants will be randomly assigned to either the dance intervention or a control group, with assessments of balance, gait variability, and quality of life conducted throughout the study. The aim is to determine if dance can improve physical and psychosocial health outcomes in this population. Data will be collected on various health metrics, including falls incidence and patient-reported outcomes.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are breast cancer survivors who have completed taxane-based chemotherapy at least 3 months prior and are experiencing neuropathy symptoms.
Not a fit: Patients with pre-existing vestibular deficits or those who are non-ambulatory may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could enhance the quality of life and physical health of breast cancer survivors suffering from neuropathy.
How similar studies have performed: While dance interventions have shown promise in other rehabilitation contexts, this specific approach for breast cancer survivors with neuropathy is novel and has not been extensively tested.
