CT-guided localization for small liver tumors before surgery
The Feasibility of CT-guided Localization for Micro Hepatocellular Carcinoma Before Surgical Resection

What this trial studies
This project aims to accurately locate micro hepatocellular carcinoma using CT guidance prior to surgical resection. By employing a specialized localization needle, the study seeks to enhance the precision of tumor removal, potentially reducing operation time and intraoperative bleeding. Patients with a preoperative diagnosis of cirrhosis and small liver tumors that are difficult to detect through standard imaging will be included. The localization process is performed on the day of surgery, ensuring that the surgical team has clear guidance for the procedure.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults over 18 with a diagnosis of cirrhosis and micro hepatocellular carcinoma that cannot be detected by standard imaging methods.
Not a fit: Patients with advanced liver disease (Child-Pugh grade C) or significant uncontrolled health issues may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could lead to more effective surgical outcomes for patients with small liver tumors.
How similar studies have performed: While similar localization techniques have been explored, this specific approach using CT guidance for micro hepatocellular carcinoma is relatively novel.
