What this trial studies
This observational study investigates the efficacy of cryotherapy in treating endometriosis lesions located in the abdominal wall. Endometriosis is a condition where endometrial cells grow outside the uterus, and while it commonly affects pelvic organs, abdominal wall lesions are rare. The study focuses on women who have undergone cryotherapy for these specific lesions between January 2020 and January 2023, aiming to gather data on treatment outcomes. By leveraging techniques used in treating soft tissue tumors, the study seeks to evaluate the potential benefits of cryotherapy for this unique application.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adult women aged 18 and older who have received cryotherapy for abdominal wall endometriosis nodules.
Not a fit: Patients who have not undergone cryotherapy for abdominal wall endometriosis lesions or who object to the reuse of their data will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could provide a new treatment option for women suffering from abdominal wall endometriosis, potentially improving their quality of life.
How similar studies have performed: While cryotherapy has been successfully used for other soft tissue tumors, this specific application for abdominal wall endometriosis is novel and has limited prior research.
