What this trial studies
This study aims to co-produce a novel model for implementing falls management specifically for older individuals living in care homes. It involves a series of workshops with key stakeholders, including residents, relatives, and care home staff, to collaboratively develop and evaluate an outcomes framework. The approach utilizes systemic action research to ensure that the model is feasible and effective within the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Systems. Data will be collected to assess the co-production process and its challenges, ultimately refining the model based on stakeholder feedback.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study include stakeholders such as care home staff, residents, their relatives, and health professionals involved in falls management.
Not a fit: Patients who are not involved in care home settings or who lack the capacity to provide informed consent may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this initiative could significantly reduce the incidence of falls among older adults in care homes, enhancing their safety and quality of life.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been various initiatives aimed at falls management in care homes, this co-production approach is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested in this specific context.
