What this trial studies

This study investigates the effectiveness of core engagement exercises combined with routine exercise therapy to alleviate low back pain in middle school children aged 9 to 14. It addresses the common issue of low back pain in this age group, which is often exacerbated by prolonged sitting, poor posture, and heavy backpacks. The study aims to improve spinal stability and reduce pain through targeted physical interventions. Participants will engage in a structured program of exercises designed to strengthen core muscles and enhance overall physical activity.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are middle school children aged 9 to 14 who experience low back pain rated 2 or greater on the Numeric Pain Rating Scale.

Not a fit: Patients with structural deformities, a history of spinal surgery, acute low back pain flare-ups, or lower limb injuries may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly reduce low back pain in children, improving their school performance and overall quality of life.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown positive outcomes with similar exercise-based interventions for low back pain in children, suggesting that this approach may be effective.
