What this trial studies

This study compares the effects of yoga and conventional physiotherapy programs on patients diagnosed with sarcoidosis, particularly focusing on those with pulmonary involvement and fatigue symptoms. The trial aims to assess improvements in lung capacity, inspiratory muscle strength, and overall quality of life through these non-pharmacological interventions. Participants will be divided into two groups, one receiving traditional physiotherapy and the other engaging in a structured yoga program. The study seeks to fill a gap in the literature regarding non-drug treatments for sarcoidosis, which is often associated with significant emotional and physical challenges.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults diagnosed with stage II-III-IV sarcoidosis who experience fatigue and have pulmonary involvement.

Not a fit: Patients with cognitive impairments, major cardiovascular diseases, or those currently experiencing disease exacerbations may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide patients with effective non-pharmacological treatment options to improve their quality of life and manage symptoms of sarcoidosis.

How similar studies have performed: While studies on non-pharmacological treatments for sarcoidosis are limited, there is evidence suggesting that exercise training can significantly improve outcomes in chronic lung diseases, indicating potential for success in this approach.
