Comparing vision outcomes of toric and spherical contact lenses for astigmatic patients
A Comparative Study on Functional Vision in Astigmatic Patients: DAILIES TOTAL1 Toric Contact Lenses vs. Spherical Equivalent Contact Lenses in Asian Eyes
This study tests whether DAILIES TOTAL1 Toric Contact Lenses help people with astigmatism see better and feel more comfortable while using digital devices compared to regular spherical lenses.

What this trial studies
This clinical trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of DAILIES TOTAL1 Toric Contact Lenses compared to Spherical Equivalent Contact Lenses in enhancing the functional vision of astigmatic patients, particularly among Asian individuals who frequently use digital devices. Participants will wear both types of lenses for a designated period while performing tasks involving digital screens, allowing researchers to monitor and record their vision quality, comfort levels, and overall satisfaction. The study seeks to address the gap in understanding how these lenses impact real-world visual performance.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are Asian individuals aged 18 to 39 with specific refractive errors who have been wearing soft contact lenses for at least six months.
Not a fit: Patients with a history of ocular pathology, active infections, or significant binocular vision abnormalities may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved vision quality and comfort for astigmatic patients using digital devices.
How similar studies have performed: While toric lenses have shown promise in improving visual acuity, this specific comparative approach focusing on digital device usage is relatively novel.
Eligibility criteria
