Comparing ultrasound biofeedback with traditional therapy for chronic low back pain
Comparison of Abdominal Draw-in Maneuver With Real-time Ultrasound Imaging Biofeedback vs Conservative Physical Therapy in Patients With Chronic Low Back Pain: A Prospective, Randomized Clinical Trial
NA · Abant Izzet Baysal University · NCT06856642

What this trial studies
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the abdominal drawing-in maneuver combined with real-time ultrasound biofeedback against conservative physical therapy in patients suffering from chronic nonspecific low back pain. Chronic low back pain is a prevalent issue that can severely impact physical and mental health, necessitating a multidisciplinary treatment approach. The study utilizes ultrasound biofeedback to provide real-time visualization of muscle activity, allowing patients to adjust their movements and improve their condition. Participants will be monitored over a specified period to assess the outcomes of both treatment methods.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18-65 with chronic nonspecific low back pain lasting at least 3 months.
Not a fit: Patients with neuropathic pain, recent lumbar interventions, or significant neurological conditions may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could offer a more effective treatment option for patients with chronic low back pain.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promise in using biofeedback techniques for rehabilitation, suggesting potential success for this approach.
