Comparing two exercise methods for treating fatty liver disease
Pyramidal Versus Continuous Training Effects on Fatty Liver
NA · Cairo University · NCT06803108
This study is testing which exercise method, continuous treadmill workouts or interval training, helps people with Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease lower their liver enzyme levels better while following a low-calorie diet.

What this trial studies
This study investigates the effects of two different exercise regimens on patients with Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD). One group will engage in continuous aerobic training on a treadmill for 60 minutes, while the other group will participate in a pyramidal training program that includes intervals of running and rest. Both groups will follow a low-calorie diet and complete their exercise sessions three times a week over a 12-week period. The goal is to determine which exercise method is more effective in reducing elevated liver enzymes associated with fatty liver.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are obese patients diagnosed with Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease.
Not a fit: Patients with cardiovascular issues, metabolic disorders, or orthopedic pain in the lower limbs may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide insights into more effective exercise strategies for managing fatty liver disease.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown that exercise can positively impact liver health, but the specific comparison of pyramidal versus continuous training is less explored.
