This study tests which of two continuous glucose monitors, the Freestyle Libre 2 or the Dexcom G7, does a better job at detecting low blood sugar levels in adults with type 1 diabetes.

What this trial studies
This study aims to compare the effectiveness of two continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) devices, the Freestyle Libre 2 and the Dexcom G7, in measuring hypoglycemic levels in adults with type 1 diabetes. Participants who are already using the Dexcom G7 will also wear the Libre 2 sensor for 14 days, allowing for nearly simultaneous glucose readings from both devices. The study will analyze glucose data collected within a 5-minute interval to assess any differences in hypoglycemic detection between the two devices. Additionally, participants will perform fingerprick blood glucose measurements when their Dexcom device indicates low glucose levels.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults with type 1 diabetes who are currently using the Dexcom G7 device.
Not a fit: Patients who do not use the Dexcom G7 or those who are not diagnosed with type 1 diabetes may not benefit from this study.
