Comparing tongue diagnosis in myasthenia gravis patients and healthy individuals
Application of Artificial Intelligence for Precision Medicine in TCM Tongue Diagnosis and Syndrome Differentiation in Myasthenia Gravis Compared to Healthy Controls

What this trial studies
This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) tongue diagnosis in patients with myasthenia gravis compared to healthy controls. It utilizes scientific methods to analyze tongue images, focusing on characteristics such as tongue body, coating, color, and sublingual veins. The goal is to enhance diagnostic accuracy and provide more reliable information for TCM practitioners, thereby improving the clinical application of tongue diagnosis. Participants will undergo tongue imaging and heart rate variability assessments to gather comprehensive data.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals diagnosed with myasthenia gravis who can communicate in Mandarin or Taiwanese and are cognitively alert.
Not a fit: Patients with severe organ diseases or those unable to complete the required questionnaires due to hearing loss or aphasia may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved diagnostic methods for myasthenia gravis, enhancing patient care and treatment outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: While the integration of TCM with Western medicine is common, the specific application of scientific methods to TCM tongue diagnosis in this context is relatively novel.
