What this trial studies

This study aims to evaluate and compare the effects of Theragun Percussion Therapy and Compression Therapy on pain, neck range of motion, and quality of life in patients suffering from migraines. It will involve a single-blinded, randomized design with 56 participants aged 18 to 50, recruited from Riphah Rehabilitation Care Centre and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Lahore. Participants will be divided into two groups, receiving either percussion therapy or compression therapy alongside routine physical therapy for six weeks. Outcomes will be measured using various scales to assess pain, quality of life, and neck disability before and after the intervention.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 18 to 65 who experience migraines without aura and have specific symptoms like nausea and light sensitivity.

Not a fit: Patients with congenital cervical spine conditions or other types of headaches may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide new non-pharmacological treatment options for migraine relief.

How similar studies have performed: While there is existing research on both therapies separately, this comparative approach is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested.
