What this trial studies

This clinical trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of preoperative administration of alpha-chemo-trypsin, ibuprofen, and acetaminophen in reducing post-endodontic pain in patients suffering from symptomatic irreversible pulpitis. Participants will receive one of the three medications before undergoing root canal treatment, and the intensity of pain experienced afterward will be measured and compared. The study seeks to determine which premedication offers the best pain management outcome for these patients.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are patients diagnosed with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis in mandibular molars who are eligible for root canal treatment.

Not a fit: Patients with systemic health issues, allergies to the medications being tested, or those who are pregnant will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved pain management strategies for patients undergoing root canal treatments.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have explored pain management in dental procedures, but the specific combination of medications in this trial is relatively novel.
