What this trial studies

This interventional study aims to collect and compare electrocardiographic (ECG) and echocardiographic (echo) parameters during Bachmann's bundle area pacing (BBAP) and conventional right atrial appendage (RAA) pacing. By investigating these two pacing modalities, the study seeks to understand the clinical outcomes associated with BBAP, which may reduce atrial arrhythmia burden compared to traditional methods. The research will involve patients who require atrial pacing and will gather data during regular pacemaker implantation procedures. The study is conducted at a single site, Shanghai Tong Ren Hospital.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are patients aged 18 and older who require atrial pacing and consent to participate in the study.

Not a fit: Patients who need device replacement, have defibrillation indications, or are pregnant may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved pacing strategies that reduce atrial arrhythmias and enhance patient outcomes.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results for BBAP, indicating potential advantages over conventional pacing methods.
