Comparing imaging methods for diaphragmatic hernia and eventration

Retrospective Comparative Study on Imaging Between the Bochdalek Hernia and Congenital Diaphragmatic Eventration

Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University · NCT05985564

What this trial studies

This study analyzes imaging findings from patients diagnosed with congenital diaphragmatic hernia and congenital diaphragmatic eventration who underwent surgical treatment. It aims to identify and summarize the indirect imaging signs associated with each condition, comparing their characteristics and incidence rates. By correlating these imaging signs with surgical findings, the study seeks to enhance differential diagnosis between the two conditions. The research focuses on discovering new imaging signs and understanding their prognostic implications.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients with a clinical diagnosis of diaphragmatic hernia or eventration who have undergone surgical treatment.

Not a fit: Patients who have not undergone surgical treatment or imaging examination for their condition may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve diagnostic accuracy for congenital diaphragmatic conditions, leading to better patient management.

How similar studies have performed: While similar studies have explored imaging in diaphragmatic conditions, this specific comparative analysis is relatively novel.
