What this trial studies
This study investigates the effectiveness of Iliopsoas Positional Release Technique compared to conventional physical therapy in managing sub-acute back pain. Participants aged 18-40 with sub-acute pain will be randomly assigned to receive either the experimental treatment or standard physical therapy. The outcomes will be assessed using pain scales, range of motion tests, and functional activity questionnaires before and after the treatment sessions. The study aims to provide insights into which approach may offer better relief for patients suffering from back pain.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals aged 18-40 experiencing sub-acute back pain for more than 1.5 months.
Not a fit: Patients with a history of spinal surgery, specific pathologies causing back pain, or neurological deficits may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a more effective treatment option for patients suffering from sub-acute back pain.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited evidence on the specific effectiveness of Iliopsoas Release, similar manual therapy approaches have shown promise in managing back pain.
