Comparing different therapies for spasticity in children with cerebral palsy
Comparison of Post Facilitation Stretch, Post Isometric Relaxation and Myofascial Release on Lower Limb Spasticity in Spastic Cerebral Palsy.

What this trial studies
This study aims to evaluate the effects of three therapeutic interventions—Post Facilitation Stretch, Post Isometric Relaxation, and Myofascial Release—on lower limb spasticity in children diagnosed with spastic diplegic cerebral palsy. Conducted as a randomized control trial at PAF School for PSN NUR KHAN in Rawalpindi, the study involves 30 participants aged 8 to 18 years, divided into three groups. The interventions are assessed using various measurement tools, including the Modified Ashworth Scale and goniometer, with data collected before and after treatment over a six-month period.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are children aged 8 to 18 years with spastic diplegic cerebral palsy and a Modified Ashworth Scale score of 1, 1+, or 2.
Not a fit: Patients with severe contractures, cognitive impairments, or a history of epilepsy may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide effective therapeutic options to reduce spasticity and improve mobility in children with spastic cerebral palsy.
How similar studies have performed: While there is some evidence supporting myofascial release techniques, this specific combination of interventions has not been extensively tested in prior studies.
