What this trial studies
This study aims to evaluate and compare the efficacy, safety, clinical outcomes, cosmetic appearance, and complication rates associated with various techniques of male circumcision. Infants will be divided into six groups based on the circumcision method used, including conventional dissection, bone cutting, electro-cauterization, thermal cauterization, Gomco clamp, and Plastibell device techniques. The study will be conducted at Sohag University Hospital over a six-month period, focusing on uncircumcised boys under 15 years of age. The goal is to provide comprehensive data on the outcomes of each technique.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are uncircumcised boys under 15 years of age who require circumcision for routine or medical reasons.
Not a fit: Patients over 15 years of age or those with congenital penile anomalies or bleeding disorders may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could help identify the safest and most effective circumcision techniques for infants, leading to improved patient outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have explored various circumcision techniques, but this study aims to provide a comprehensive comparison, making it a valuable addition to existing literature.
