Comparing different materials for dental bridges
RCT Study of Posterior Implant Supported Bridges Made of Various Prosthetic Materials
This study is testing whether a new type of dental bridge made from high-translucent zirconia has fewer problems than traditional bridges made from other materials for people who need a permanent implant-supported bridge.

What this trial studies
This clinical trial evaluates the clinical outcomes of implant-anchored posterior bridges made from three different materials: high-translucent monolithic zirconia, zirconia ceramic with porcelain, and metal ceramics. The study aims to determine if the high-translucent monolithic zirconia results in fewer complications compared to the other materials, as it does not require surface porcelain veneering. A total of 60 participants who need a permanent implant-supported bridge will be treated according to standard protocols using implants from Nobel Biocare.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults over 18 years old who are edentulous behind the canine in either the upper or lower jaw.
Not a fit: Patients with active periodontitis or those younger than 18 years will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved durability and reduced complications for patients receiving dental prostheses.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results with zirconia-based materials, but this specific comparison is relatively novel.
