What this trial studies
This study aims to compare the effectiveness of Bowen's Technique and the Graston Technique in patients suffering from chronic low back pain associated with fibromyalgia. It focuses on reducing pain, enhancing lumbar range of motion, improving physical functioning, and alleviating symptoms of depression. The study will involve patients aged 30 to 65 who meet specific criteria for fibromyalgia and chronic low back pain. Both techniques involve specialized soft tissue mobilization methods to promote healing and relieve discomfort.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 30 to 65 with a diagnosis of fibromyalgia and chronic low back pain lasting more than three months.
Not a fit: Patients with serious spinal conditions, neurological disorders, or those who have undergone spinal surgery may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide new, effective treatment options for patients suffering from fibromyalgia and chronic low back pain.
How similar studies have performed: While the specific combination of Bowen Technique and Graston Technique is novel, similar approaches using instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization have shown promise in other studies.
